The regular weekly service the Norwegian-owned LYS Line has been running between the Port of Bilbao and North Sea ports since 1985, will shortly be improved with the replacement of the two vessels at present in service by two with greater capacity.
Besides the usual destinations of Immingham, Moss and Lysekil, the ports of Hamburg, Chatham and Halden will be added, as well as the options to call at Tilbury and Bruges.
Among the main features of the Lysblink and Lysbris, the twin ships the line is bringing into service, are their greater capacity for not only general cargo and paper reels, but also for 20, 40 and 45-foot containers. In this respect, the vessels can load up to 160 TEUs and 30 reefers.
