Port Authority approves concession for sulphuric acid plant

The Port Authority of Bilbao Board of Directors has granted Acoleq Químicos S. L. a concession to build a plant for the production of sulphuric acid, oleum and derivatives in the Port of Bilbao. This was awarded after receiving and presenting the corresponding integrated environmental authorization.

The plant will occupy a 21,850 m² surface on Dock AZ1. and will require planned investment of 38 million euros. Company production provisions are of 329,000 tonnes of sulphuric acid a year, while the beginning of operations is scheduled for the end of 2011.
