Vitoria to host the III Multimodal Logistics Forum
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Territory of Alava and the Port Authority of Bilbao are organizing the third TRANSMODAL Conference for professionals from the Logistics and Multimodal world, which will be held in the Chamber’s function room at 38B Dato Street, Vitoria-Gasteiz on 5 May. The aim of the event is to bring about a continuous debate so as to progress in approaches, solutions and examples designed to bring about establishing innovation in logistics and multimodal promotion.
The Conference will be officially opened at 9.00 a.m. by Mr. Iñaki Arriola, Head of the Department for Housing, Public works and Transport of the Autonomous Basque Government, Mr. Gregorio Rojo, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Territory of Alava, and Mr. José Ramón de la Fuente, Chairman of the Bilbao Port Authority.
The following panels will be held at the Conference: “Multimodal Logistics: What on earth should we do?” by Federico Sabriá, Lecturer at IESE; “ The Panama Canal: new opportunities for import/export logistics”, by Rodolfo R. Sabonge Ch., Vice Chairman of the Research and Market Analysis Bureau of the Panama Canal Authority; “The Commitment to Rail Transport” by a representative of the Spanish Rail Company RENFE; “Controlled Temperature Logistics” by José Ignacio Sasiain, Manager of Eroski Cold Products Supply and Víctor Charcán, Export Manager America of El Coto de Rioja S.A.; and “Examples of Competitiveness in Logistics” by Pasquale Rota, Manager Piloting Logistics Division, Mercedes Benz Spain; Francisco del Río, Manager Materials Logistics Division, Mercedes Benz Spain and José Antonio Cid, Manager Business Logisitcs of Cega Logistics (Cegasa Group).
At 2.00 p.m., once all the panels have ended, the ceremony for the “Transmodal Awards for the Best Initiatives in Logistics and Multimodality” carried out in 2009 by companies working in Alava and the Port of Bilbao will take place.
