Goods in the port

Goods traffic in the Port of Bilbao is made up of 59% liquid bulks, 17% general container cargo, 11% general cargo and 13% solid bulks. In terms of goods classes, crude oil supposes 36% of liquid bulks. In general cargo, outstanding are iron and steel products together with pulp and paper, while in container goods there is a balance between iron and steel, various, wine, beverages and spirits, and building materials.

With regard to solid bulks, the main goods are coal, scrap and soy beans and powder.

In the field of markets, the main ones for the Port of Bilbao with reference to total traffic are Russia, United Kingdom, Iran and the United States, however, in recent years there has been a spectacular increase in traffic with Asian countries such as China and India.
